We are honored to extend to you the invitation to become a member of the John C. McDonald Surgical Society. This society was founded to promote the advancement of the knowledge and teaching of surgery, to foster the fellowship of surgeons, and to encourage the highest standards of medical practice, research and ethics. Department of Surgery faculty are current members as well as many of your fellow alumni.

Membership is limited to surgeons whose training has included basic general surgery training which makes them eligible for board certification in General Surgery or other subspecialties. Active members shall be graduates of LSUMC in Shreveport (or of the old Confederate Memorial Hospital) or practicing surgeons either holding an appointment with LSU Health Shreveport or were trained by Dr. John C. McDonald.
